 POWER UP Workshops for Pre-school & Elementary
Pre-school Aged Children Ages 2-4 (two 45 minute sessions - $150.00)
Possible Topics:• Names of genitals • Basics of reproduction (sperm/ovum) • Baby grows in the uterus • Baby is born through the vagina • Not to pick up condoms, tissue, needles • Rules about privacy • Body belongs to you • Safe versus unsafe touch
Kindergarten - Grade 1 (two 45 minute sessions - $150.00)
Possible topics:• Female and male private body parts • safe versus unsafe touch • Responding to unsafe touch • Information from preschool workshop
Grade 2-3 (two 45 minute sessions - $150.00)
Possible topics:• Avoidance and assertiveness skills (abusive situations) • Information from K-Grade 1 workshop
Kindergarten to Grade 3 *additional topics upon request
• Distinction between the digestive and reproductive system• Basic information about body changes at puberty • Basic understanding of sexual orientation • All families are different
Grade 4 (two 60 minutes session - $200.00)
Possible topics:• Physical changes that happened during puberty • Communicable/non-communicable diseases
Grade 5 (two 60 minute sessions - $200.00)
Possible topics:• Physical, emotional and social changes of puberty • Communicable/non-communicable diseases
Grade 6 (two 90 minute sessions - $300.00)
Possible topics:• Human reproductive system • Developmental rates during puberty • Reduce risk of HIV, Hep B and C, meningococcal
Grade 7 (three 90 minute sessions - $450.00)
Possible topics:• HIV/AIDS • Healthy versus unhealthy relationships • Personal safety to avoid abuse and exploitation
Intermediate Aged Children Grade 4-7 *additional topics upon request
• Basic information about S.T.I.'s• One doesn't have to be a sexually active teen (delay) • Distorted popular, commercialized views of the "perfect body" • Dangers of homophobic language  |
